Well, as u know, my roomate is from France. We dont talk to each other that often. We just say "hi" "see u" "oops sorry". That's it. uh oh. U konw, we just have our beds in the same room. That's it. We even dont know each other's last name. She "seems" majoring finance. But on her desk, there is a book about advertising and promotion.....oh well,I think she is majoring.......some kinda business thing. And she thinks that I major in cultural studies. That's half right, half wrong. I actually major history here, but the classes I'm taking here are;
Putonghua(Mandarin) History of Singapore Chinese Musical culture Chinese culture
And I put my schedule on my wall, so no wonder she thinks I major cultural studies. (Actually, back in my home, my department doesnt have any major. Its called School of International Liberal Studies.(SILS) Liberal, measns I can take whatever course I want. There is some rules to take courses though.But for example,I was taking business course while I studied culture and society. And I dont know why, but every student has to take mathematical statistics.)
All my courses I take here are counted as electicve subjects. (I think...)
Ok, the reacon why I wrote about my roommate even though I dont know much about her is that I have realized this; every time she changes her clothes, she goes to bathroom. Maybe she changes when she is alone in this room, but if we are in the room together, she never takes of her clothes.
To me, it is very weird. When I lived in a dorm in Japan, I had to share the bath with my friends, and we had to be naked. But we didnt care at all. So, I really dont care that if she changes her clothes when we are in the room together.
But it seems she cares. Oneday, I was changing my clothes in the room when she just came back. I was half naked, I was just wearing bra and jeans. She was kinda panicked and closed the door immediately. She was like, "OH! sorry sorry sorry!!!!!!!" ammmmm....I dont mind....
I dont know all the french girls are like her. But, she is, my frrench girl.
I havent watched rugby matches for ages. Last time I watched it was like in January or Febrary. Gosh, it's been 10 month?! So, watching rugby match was sooo nice! It was Japan against Korea. Last week Japanese national team had a match with Hong Kong. They won like 58-3. I dont remeber the exact score though...I looked at Hong Kong national team's website, and half of them are whites. Korean national team...seems 90% Asians. Oh, well I know it is not as excited as the one against All Blacks. But u know, it was FREE! If u wanna watch it in Japan, u have to pay like 15 US dollers. I wanted to go to the one against Hong Kong too, but I had bbq party....oh anyway, it was good!
Japan's number15, the fullback, is from my home university, Waseda. He made the really difficult kick. Amazing! See? Japan's rugby's gonna get better and better!
There were some Korean people from my university, I mean, CUHK. Of course they came to cheer Korean team. But, they were kinda, frustrated. Why? because the score was
I just kept asking them what the score was, like, "ammmm, I think I have a short memory, I remember that Japanese team has got 54 points, but how many did u guys get?" I'm sure they are gonna hate me, but its just to piss them off. :D
Today I went to my Chinese class and met the Korean guy. I asked him again! lol He said it was his first time to watch a rugby match. Gosh sorry for him. First rugby match, they couldnt score.
My Tunisian friend asked me;
"In Japan, soccer is more popular than rugby, so how come u dont watch football and watch rugby?!"
ammmm I dont know. To me soccer, is not as exciting as rugby, thats it....
Time flies....it was on the 28th of August. My first time to come to HK. Hot and humid weather, so much culture shock, homesick.....seems like it is really a long time ago. It has been three month.I got used to my life in HK. So many good friends, so much fun. I just cannot believe they are leaving.
We had a farewell party for the guys who are leaving in December or in January. Unlimited food and drink! Some performance by the students, and games like eating durians.
One of the Japanese guys, called Kenji,
performed his beat box. It was really cool!! He also participated in some kinda competition in this school. I'm sure that he's gonna win!Go!WE Yellows! lol
I kinda regretted that I chose this school at first coz this school has soooooooo many hills!! Up, down uP dOwN, UP DoWn...Up Up Up! But I dont regret anynmore, coz I have made really good friends here!!
Some of my friends here belong to international football club, and play in the school tournament. They are mostly Europeans and Americans. One of them told me the story how they made the international team. Some drunk exchange studensts played soccer. Naked. And then they suddenly came up with the idea that they should make a football team. Some drunk guys made this team, but now they are the best in this school. Each faculty has its own soccer team, and there are three staff teams. There is another international team, also Korean team and 2 mainland Chinese teams. Quite a lot!
Today was their last official match, coz most of them are here only for a semester. There is only one person who is gonna stay here one more semester. He has never played football. So next semester, he should recruit some guys in his team. I think I can help him finding members, but not for playing.
They played against fuclty of chemistry today. I usually dont watch soccer. I like watching rugby a lot more. But, u know, if somebody u know play in the game, it's different. Ok, I still dont understand the exact rules of soccer, but it is more fun to watch it if u know some of the players.
One of the players promised me that he scores three times. If he doesnt, he has to be naked on the field and I take a photo of him, then post it on this blog. Can u find a photo of a naked Tunisian guy on this blog? I dont think u can coz I didnt post it. It means, he did it! The score was 5-0!! lol
As I already mentioned, I really dont watch soccer and dont know the exact rules. But I could tell that the opponent's defense was really bad. For the international team, there were only 2 Japanese girls as suppoeters, but the opponent has got 20 people as supporters. Poor guys, they could not score. Besides, for the 1st half, they were playing 6 people against 7. Oh gosh, international students are not punctual! lol But they scored twice in the 1st half, so it seems the number of players does not matter.
Its sad coz most of them are leaving and cannot see them playing football again. So sad. But anyway, today they won. I am happy too!
Well, there was a funny thing in the canteen. After I finished my Chinese class, I had lunch with an American guy and a Korean guy. Usually, all my classmates have lunch together, but this time, only three people. There was a Korean girl in my class at the canteen too, but she was having lunch with her other friends. When the American guy found her, he said,
After this word, he said something in Korean. Suddenly, the girl's face turned red, she hid her face and ran away. The Korean guy with us was upset. I didnt know what was going on. I asked the American guy what he said in Korean. He told me he said
"su*k my di*k"
in Korean. And he also told me that he said to the girl that the Korean guy told him to say the word to her. Oh my god, it is so funny that I could not stop laughing. It wasnt the word itself, but the situation, u know. Have u ever heard about a guy saying wazzup and suc*k my dic* to his classmate? Especially, Korean girls are known to be really shy and conservative about sexual things. It was really funny.
But, the Korean guy was like, "Why are u laughing so much Yoko?! Aren't u a girl?!" Maybe, he thinks that I should behave like her coz it is really sexual. Besides, I am a girl, a Japanese girl. I think he thinks that I should be shy like her.
I know that the American guy did it just 4 joking. But the Korean guy was like," is it common in the US?! I cannot believe that u said to her!"
Well, even in Japan, if u are really close as friends, u can say some stupid sexual things to the girls. I dont mind it at least. I sometimes say to my guys friends some sexual things. He thinks that I like suc*ing di*ks. But laughing at the word doesnt mean I like doing it. Maybe, I am kinda guy, or a bit Americanized than him. I dont know. But it was really funny to me.
I guess Korean people are really conservative about it.The Korean guy apologized her after we finished lunch.
Yesterday, one of the local girls invited nearly 30 exchange students to her house and we had bbq party. She lives in one of the best condominiums in HK. (well, I guess its one of the best. It should be!) In the area, they have tennis courts, swimming pool, gyms, bbq places and so on. I have been counghing since a day before, and lost my voice. It is really hard for everybody to understand what I try to say. On the bus to her house, my friend clled me and I tried to answer. "hello?" The funny thing was, everybody on the bus suddenly became quiet. I was the only one speaking with fuc*in' funny voice. Anyway, it was a lot of fun. We played ping pong. Have u guys seen me plyaing table tennis b4? Oh gosh, its terrible. One of my friends gave me an useful advice.
"just put it on the table"
Sounds easy, but I really.......cannot. Well, actually I can, but I just put the ball on my side of the table, or completely different tables. But it was still fun. Even though I could not win, I met new people. If I had normal voice, it would be more fun, though.
